Production Process

The capacity‐building initiative within Khadi institutions offers comprehensive, hands‐on training for production staff at every stage of product development. The program begins with process mapping, guiding participants to document sequential production activities and create flow diagrams to visualize lead times. Building on this foundation, trainees engage in product mapping to classify items effectively and in resource optimization, applying industry best practices to improve efficiency—techniques like Value Stream Mapping are employed to distinguish value‐adding from non‐value‐adding steps. A crucial component is identifying and resolving bottlenecks to streamline operations and enhance throughput. The training is conducted directly on-site within production units, ensuring practical learning in the actual working environment.

Weaves and loom upgradation.jpeg

Textures, Weaves & Loom Upgradation

The training program on capacity building for weaves and loom upgradation has been meticulously crafted to support Khadi institutions in modernizing their existing looms and enhancing weaving techniques. Participants explore a wide array of weaving fundamentals, including the various types of weaves and how to create textures through weaving, while also learning to identify and rectify common texture and weaving defects. Technical instruction addresses the machinery itself, delving into the key mechanical aspects of looms and introducing effective loom upgradation techniques—such as integrating dobby, jacquard, or rapier systems to streamline operations and expand design capabilities. Through this program, Khadi institutions gain practical skills and technical knowledge essential for elevating product quality, optimizing equipment, and revitalizing traditional craft with contemporary enhancements.

Dyeing & Processing

The Dyeing & Processing Program is specifically tailored for Khadi institutions seeking to refine and expand their existing processes. Designed to enhance both skill and capacity, the training covers a comprehensive range of topics essential for modern dyeing operations. Participants learn diverse dyeing techniques—from both traditional and contemporary methods—alongside instruction on colour theory and aesthetic principles. The course provides in-depth knowledge of natural and synthetic dyes, enabling informed choices based on material and design goals. Trainees are also trained to recognize and correct common dyeing defects, supported by engaging practical demonstrations that explore both primary and secondary colours. Finally, the curriculum includes grounding in the use and maintenance of equipment and chemicals to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality results. By the end of the program, participating Khadi institutions will be fully prepared to upgrade their dyeing and processing workflows, improving product quality and production capacity.

Quality Assurance 2.HEIC

Quality Control & Finishing

The Quality Control & Finishing training is expertly crafted to enhance the overall product quality at Khadi institutions by strengthening skills and modernizing workflows. Participants begin by mastering quality implementation techniques across all stages—starting with warehouse and fabric storage inspection to ensure materials are defect-free and properly handled. On the production floor, the program introduces best-practice approaches: inline and final quality checkpoints are established to detect issues in cutting, stitching, pressing, and packaging. Trainees learn to apply recognized industry standards to maintain consistent quality and compliance. Finally, the curriculum addresses finishing and presentation, teaching methods like effective pressing, trimming, labeling, and packaging to ensure garments are visually appealing and market-ready. By the end of the program, Khadi production teams will be equipped to implement rigorous quality systems, improve defect detection, and deliver professionally finished products that meet industry expectations.

Inventory management 2.HEIC

Inventory Management

The Capacity Building program on Inventory Management is expertly designed to help Khadi institutions enhance their inventory processes and align them with industry best practices. The training begins with in-depth instruction on efficient warehousing techniques, incorporating the 5S methodology—Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain—to create a clean, organized, and disciplined environment tailored for effective inventory control. Participants then master essential stock-keeping and inventory management methods, including monitoring stock movement through systems like FIFO (first-in, first-out), demand–supply alignment, and other flow models . The program further addresses techniques for tracking transfers of stock between units—for example, moving items from the production unit to the warehouse, warehouse to store room, and store room to shop floor. To ensure transparency and accountability, trainees also learn to maintain comprehensive inventory records and stock books.

Visual merchandising.HEIC

Visual Merchandising

The Visual Merchandising training program is crafted to equip sales staff with the skills and techniques to elevate store aesthetics and create engaging customer experiences. Participants learn established visual merchandising standards, including effective store space mapping and strategic display techniques, such as planograms and themed layouts, to optimize traffic flow and spotlight key products. The program includes instruction on developing an audio‑visual library for window displays, integrating multimedia elements to enhance visual storytelling and reinforce brand identity. Trainees also explore seasonal and theme-based ideation, designing displays that resonate with changing trends and customer expectations. Finally, a dedicated product training session ensures store teams understand feature presentation and how best to showcase merchandise, creating consistency and depth in their visual strategy.

Sales Training

The Capacity Building in Sales training is purpose-built to strengthen the skills of Khadi institution sales teams, improving their methods and overall performance. Trainees begin with essential soft-skill training, enhancing communication and customer engagement. They then learn quantitative techniques for evaluating store performance, including footfall analysis—measuring customer traffic to optimize staffing, promotions, and layout—conversion rate, stock-turn/inventory turnover, and stock cover or weeks of stock, all critical KPIs that influence profitability and inventory management. The program also explores sell-through analysis and ROI calculation methods, enabling staff to assess product performance and make data-driven decisions. Practical instruction on ASP (Average Selling Price) calculation and store space mapping further enables teams to maximize merchandising effectiveness. Finally, trainees delve into retail data warehousing and analysis techniques to integrate these insights in real time, empowering Khadi outlets to optimize stock, pricing, and promotional strategies for sustained sales growth.
